Stella and Sahai are two women from the South-West of France, connected by a friendship that has lasted for more than ten years. Their journey together began through rope, BDSM and photography. Stella’s approach to rope is perhaps closer to jazz than to choreography. There is a structure and an intention, but she leaves room for improvisation, listening and what emerges in the moment.

Improvisation means taking a risk: not knowing exactly what will happen next, and allowing Sahai to influence the direction of the dance. This uncertainty creates tension, intensity and sensations that cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way twice.

For Stella, this is where much of the emotion lives — in that space between control and freedom, between what is planned and what is discovered together.

With Sahai, she can step into that uncertainty because their connection is built on years of trust and understanding. They know each other well enough to listen deeply, while still allowing themselves to be surprised.
